Hi, I’m Emilie! I’m the Founder of Twilight Sleep Support. I’m a proud Mummy to a 1 year old little girl. We live in the beautiful Shropshire Countryside with our Dalmatian Suki.
I’ve always wanted to work with babies and children, but didn’t feel I’d found my niche until I had my little girl. Surrounded by contradicting information around different approaches, I felt huge stress around her sleep.
Every article I read seemed to tell me that doing what felt natural – to hold her close, feed her as much as she wanted, contact nap and take in the snuggles – was going to ruin her sleep.
I’d sit holding my beautiful sleeping baby and feel guilty, worried that I was damaging her by not following strict wake windows. I worried that something was wrong with her, or with me, when putting her down ‘drowsy but awake’ didn’t work.
As I searched for answers, I found a like-minded community of people, who were doing things differently. People who told me I wasn’t failing as a parent for refusing to go against my instincts. The more I learned, the more I wanted to share with everyone.
There is a better way! I leaned into what felt natural, and what I’d known deep down from the start. My baby needed me, to hold her close. She needed to be loved and comforted, and responding to those needs was the right thing to do.
I settled into motherhood, feeling confident that I was on the right path. My little girl flourished, and I felt like a huge weight had been lifted. I’ve never looked back, and decided I wanted to help other people to feel this way too.
I joined the Holistic Sleep Coaching Program with Llyndsey Hookway and began hundreds of hours of training, covering not just sleep, but attachment, parenting styles, nutrition and so much more.
I’m so excited to give other families the gift that was given to me – better rest, increased parental confidence, while maintaining connection and following your instincts.
